Frequently Asked Questions

  • What time do I need to arrive for my appointment?

We ask that you arrive at least 5 minutes early to every appointment. For New Patient appointments, your scheduled arrival time will be indicated on the paperwork that is mailed to you prior to your appointment.

  • How long will my appointment take?

Appointment times vary based on the physician that you are scheduled with. Typically, appointments will take no longer than 30 minutes. However, all New Patient appointments are scheduled for 1 hour.

  • Do I need to bring anything with me to my appointment?

There are a few things that need to be brought to your appointments with Kidney Specialists of Central Oklahoma. If your doctor has requested a Blood Pressure log to be kept by you, please bring it with you to your appointment. Also, please bring an up-to-date medication list with you to every appointment. Please be prepared to show your Insurance Card at every appointment. We also may ask for some paperwork to be completed at your appointment; if you would like to complete this paperwork ahead of time you may complete the New Patient Registration on this website.

  • Will I receive a Reminder Call informing me of my appointment ahead of time?

Currently, our doctor’s schedules are only available for 4 months; as a result of this you may not be able to schedule a follow-up appointment with your doctor at checkout. However, you will receive a Reminder Call 3 weeks prior to your follow-up appointment when it is scheduled. If the date and time of your follow-up appointment does not work for you please call the office and we will be happy to find a date and time that works with your schedule. You will receive another Reminder Call 3 days prior to your scheduled appointment and a final Reminder Call the day before your appointment. It is important that you respond appropriately to these Reminder Calls by confirming or rescheduling your appointment with our office.

  • How do I view my Lab Results?

You can view your lab results by logging into your Patient Portal and going to the “Recent Results” section on the main page. • What do I need to do if my insurance has changed?
